YALI: Favorite memory or tradition from Passover?

Stephanie: Every Passover, I help my mother cook and set a table for a traditional seder. For 8 days, we forswear leavened foods, as we remember and honor our freedom. The meal on the first night is extra special, as it is enjoyed among our extended family. The challenges of forbidden ingredients and a discerning, repeat audience forces us to get creative. Some recipes are new, but many are treasured heirlooms.

Table setting for Passover

YALI: What inspired this table setting / where did you draw inspiration from?

Stephanie: For me, yellow means warmer days. Forsythia is the first plant that blossoms in the spring, and baby chicks are hatching all over the country. This table celebrates the happy color with tall forsythia branches, our signature Chefanie tablecloth, and linen napkins embroidered with yellow flowers. I try to match my outfits my tables, and my yellow velvet Yali jacket corresponds charmingly.

Stephanie: With jeans, Stubbs & Wootton slippers, and bamboo hoop earrings from my collection.

PS: Stephanie made you a fun playlist for spring!
